Renovation of Church at Hesheng Town

Situated in a hospitality town surrounded by rivers in the north of Guangzhou, the renovated project focuses on the concept of Modern, Spirits, and Timeless. The architecture should extend the existing culture and space memory for locals from the past to the future. Derived from the water environment, the design applied the “Wave” to the façade elements, creating a dynamic trend for the building. The primitive water-washed stone makes simple sense and blends into the town. The interior maintains a cohesive sequence and consistent space, creating a ritual experience and evoking artistic feelings in people.
