Architect Bian Baoyang gave a lecture on the Heart Sutra and Design, the most core sutra in Buddhism. The book mainly discusses the wisdom of the world’s nature and the approach to the World to Come. The sutra regards Emptiness as the nature of the world, the way of practice is No Persistence, and the arrival at the World to Come is Nirvana. The realization of the sutra could help us experience a better life and discover the diverse world. Actually, these thoughts have been rooted in traditional Chinese culture for a thousand years, since Buddhism was introduced to China from India, and they have shaped a profound culture in this land. In the projects, the concept was applied to design by architect Bian Baoyang; only an exact interpretation could be a reasonable and thoughtful design.
