PLAT ASIA’s design work Xilamuren Silk-Road Dreamland Steppe Resort, recently published by architecture media, includes gooood, designboom, Archiposition, and global media. This project, completed in Jul 2021, has operated for three years from now on and has serviced thousands of tourists. Principal architect Bian Baoyang led the planning, architecture, and landscape installation design, selected the Steppe Aesthetics as the core experience of architecture and resort, and took the rivers, grass, wind, cloud, sky, and human being, six main elements present in the design. The strategy includes planning settlements inspired by Live by Water, building in sustainable thought, and respecting the cultural context of locals. Project architect Nandin practiced the Steppe-Life Metabolism in this project; he drew the local peoples’ behavior, translated it into architecture and space, and inherited this traditional steppe culture in the modern resort. The wind installation as the unique landmark and spiritual symbolization present like a light blue Tangri River, spread around the theater, exhibition, fair, and mail, connects the visitor center and kid wonderland, generating an extraordinary scene in the background of Yinshan Mountain and Xilamuren Steppe.
