The PLAN AWARD, an influential international award based in Italy, announced its 2022 shortlist recently. Dujiangyan Forest Hotel by PLAT ASIA has been selected for the shortlist in the hospitality/future category, standing out from thousands of works around the world.
The Dujiangyan Forest Hotel, designed by the team led by architect JUNG Donghyun, has a design scope that ranges from site, architecture, to interiors. It follows the original context environment, adopting the site’s solar altitude angle at the Winter Solstice, with the roof slope parallel to the angle, allowing the sunlight in maximally. The design generated from a detailed analysis of the environment and climates, responds to nature, and seeks an eco-friendly architectural solution.
