International Sports Facility magazine sb in Germany published the Ordos Smart Sports Park issue Feb/2024, with a special subject on the stadia and sports grounds. The magazine interviewed the principal architect, Bian Baoyang, with some questions: how to express the landscape terrain of Ordos in the park; he thought Translating as a key strategy, the desert-steppe-river like the DNA of Ordos, and design extract these elements apply to the park’s function, ground, and circulation. To attract people to the new park, architect Bian Baoyang took the park as a new tourist landmark that appealed to different groups from other cities and served all people. What facility is needed in the future? Bian Baoyang thinks sports facilities and fields should help reconnect people to nature in an urban context, make sports a healthy lifestyle, and introduce the intelligent system to daily life for the public.
